More than 50 military and veteran families across the United States remain on the waiting list for holiday assistance through the Soldiers’ Angels Adopt-A-Family program as the nonprofit enters the final phase of its seasonal effort.

The program provides gifts for children and grocery gift cards for holiday meals to eligible households, including families of deployed service members, post-9/11 wounded, ill, or injured service members, and low-income veterans.

Sponsors—including individuals, families, businesses, school groups, and civic organizations—receive a family profile with first names, ages, and wish lists. They purchase and deliver gifts and grocery gift cards directly or coordinate shipping through Soldiers’ Angels instructions.

The nonprofit, based in San Antonio, Texas, coordinates the nationwide program with support from volunteers, corporate partners, and community groups. Staff and volunteers continue to process new sponsors and match them with remaining families until each receives support or the program reaches its seasonal cutoff.

Soldiers’ Angels encourages sponsors to register promptly so gifts and grocery cards reach families before major winter holidays. Families who do not receive a match may be referred to other local or national assistance programs.
