President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced on Saturday that fuel prices will be reduced next week and instructed oil companies to implement the rollback fully and promptly.
Marcos said diesel prices will decrease by ₱24.94 per liter, while gasoline will drop by ₱3.41 per liter and kerosene by ₱2 per liter. He made the announcement in a video message, where he called on oil companies to carry out the adjustments without delay.
The President stated that the rollback exceeds the previous week’s price reduction and said it reflects lower fuel costs for consumers.
Marcos also directed oil companies to ensure full implementation of the price adjustments and urged them to pass on the reductions to consumers.
He encouraged the public to report concerns regarding fuel pricing to his office and the Department of Energy.
The administration also announced that the Department of Transportation and the Land Transportation Office will extend the validity of driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations expiring by April 2026 by three months. Authorities said penalties for late renewal during the extension period will be waived.
Marcos said the measures aim to reduce the time spent in queues and ease the impact of fuel and transport costs on the public.
