Texas teen takes center stage with national win at Jimmy Awards

A North Texas high school graduate has earned one of the most prestigious honors in American high school musical theatre.

Fabiola Caraballo Quijada, a recent graduate of Tyler Legacy High School, was named Best Actress at the 2025 Jimmy Awards held in New York City.

The national competition, formally known as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, brought together top student performers from across the country.

Caraballo Quijada stood out among dozens of finalists, winning over judges with a standout performance that showcased her vocal and acting talent.

Her win highlights the strength of arts education in East Texas and places her among an elite group of young performers nationally recognized for excellence in musical theatre.
