The Mission Bend Branch Library in Fort Bend County has closed temporarily after a vehicle crashed into the front of the building. The crash occurred while the library was closed to the public but staff were inside. No employees were injured.

According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, the driver is believed to have suffered a medical episode before the collision. Paramedics transported the driver to a hospital with minor injuries.

Officials said the branch will remain closed while repairs are made. No reopening date has been announced. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Residents are advised to monitor official updates for reopening information. Other Fort Bend County Library branches remain open.

The Mission Bend Branch, which serves as a community hub for programs and public resources, will reopen once repairs are completed and the building is deemed safe.

The Sheriff’s Office will release additional information as it becomes available.
