Miss Universe Organization (MUO) president Raul Rocha said he is considering selling his stake in the organization. He made the comments in an interview with Mexican journalist Adela Micha, posted on La Saga’s YouTube channel on Nov. 24.
Rocha denied allegations that the pageant results were influenced by a contract between one of his companies and Mexican oil firm Pemex, where the father of winner Fatima Bosch once held a top position.
According to PEOPLE magazine’s English translation, Rocha said he is “looking for someone to pass on [his role as the 50 percent-shareholder of Miss Universe] to” and described the situation as “like a relay race.”
He also expressed frustration over public scrutiny, saying, “It’s just that I’m so fed up… I don’t lend myself to that kind of thing.” Rocha said people have opinions about every decision, including hiring and firing staff.
The MUO executive claimed campaigns fueled by envy and manipulation target Bosch, calling her a victim of unfair attacks.
Rocha acquired half ownership of MUO in 2024 through Legacy Holdings Group, co-owning it with Thai company JKN Global Group, whose former CEO Anne Jakrajutatip is now facing a securities case.
