MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to re-sign guard-forward Gary Trent Jr. to a four-year, $64 million contract, according to an ESPN report on Saturday.

The deal keeps Trent in Milwaukee after spending the past two seasons with the Bucks, where he appeared in 139 games, including 30 starts.

Trent averaged 11.1 points per game during his first season with Milwaukee before averaging 8.1 points in the 2025-26 campaign, his lowest scoring average since his rookie season.

The 27-year-old initially joined the Bucks before the 2024-25 season on a veteran minimum contract. After that season, he signed a two-year, $7.5 million deal but opted out this offseason, allowing him to negotiate a long-term contract.

Milwaukee retained Trent after reportedly drawing interest from other teams during free agency. The Bucks held his Bird rights, enabling them to exceed the salary cap to re-sign him.

A career 13.0-point-per-game scorer, Trent is expected to earn approximately $15.2 million during the first year of the new contract. ESPN also reported that the size of the deal could make him a potential trade candidate in the future.
