MANILA, Philippines –The film Sunshine, starring Filipino actress Maris Racal, has been selected for the 75th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale).

It will compete in the Generation 14plus category, which showcases films aimed at young audiences. The production company, Project 8 Projects, announced the news on Instagram on January 16.

The Berlin International Film Festival is one of the world’s major film events, known for its international reach and recognition.

The Generation 14plus category focuses on films with themes relevant to youth and their experiences. The selection of Sunshine for this competition category highlights the film’s appeal and quality.

Racal, known for her work in Philippine television and film, is the lead actress in Sunshine. Her involvement in the film adds prominence to its international presence.

Project 8 Projects, the film’s production company, has been involved in other recognized film projects. The selection of Sunshine at the Berlinale further enhances the company’s reputation.
