Marcos selects new top legal adviser

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. appointed lawyer Anna Liza Logan as chief presidential legal counsel, replacing the late Juan Ponce Enrile, Malacañang announced Tuesday.

Logan previously served as deputy executive secretary for Legal Affairs at the Office of the President. She has extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation, family law, labor cases, and Human Settlements Adjudication Commission matters, as well as corporate and commercial practice for financial technology firms, real estate developers, and NGOs.

Before joining the Office of the President, Logan worked as a partner at Logan Masukat Ronulo Huang, a junior partner at Marcos Ochoa Serapio and Tan, and as an associate at Agabin Verzola Hermoso Layaoen & De Castro.

Malacañang did not release the date of her assumption to the position or details on the selection process. No changes to the mandate of the Office of the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel were announced.
