DALLAS, Texas –A Dallas man has pled guilty to kidnapping a rideshare driver in Arlington, Texas, coercing the driver to travel across state lines.

Miguel Alejandro Pastran Hernandez, 24, is set to be sentenced for the charges on Feb. 20, 2025.

According to police reports, the driver had accepted an ordinary ride request and arrived at the designated location to find the accused waiting.

Pastran Hernandez entered the backseat of the vehicle. Initially, the ride seemed typical, with the driver following a GPS-guided route to the intended destination.

However, the routine journey took a dangerous turn when Pastran Hernandez revealed a gun. The driver was compelled to comply with the accused’s demands.

Pastran Hernandez reportedly instructed the driver to head towards Florida, a journey that spans multiple states and approximately 1,100 miles.

Police records indicate that upon arrival in Florida, the driver seized an opportunity to escape.

Pastran Hernandez was apprehended shortly after the driver’s escape.
