Several major mall operators in the Philippines announced free overnight parking and temporary shelters as Typhoon Uwan, also known as Fung-Wong, intensified over the Philippine Sea.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) urged mall operators to provide these services to assist motorists and residents seeking safety.

Among the malls offering free parking and shelter are Vista Mall Kawit, Greenhills Mall, and Estancia Mall in Pasig. WalterMart Malls also opened their facilities to accommodate people taking refuge from the storm.

The MMDA coordinated with local government units to ensure public safety during the typhoon. Malls across Luzon implemented measures to receive residents in need of temporary shelter.

Authorities advised the public to stay informed and follow official updates on the storm’s movement. Public transportation services adjusted routes and schedules to prioritize passenger safety, while emergency response teams remained on standby for possible incidents.
