Lady Gaga is set to further cement her prominence at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, having been announced as a performer by the event organizers on Saturday.
The Grammy-winning artist tops the list of nominations for this year’s VMAs, receiving 12 nods, including Artist of the Year and Best Album for “Mayhem,” released earlier this year.
Lady Gaga, also known as Mother Monster, has a storied history with the VMAs, having received a total of 57 nominations throughout her career. She last performed at the event in 2020, delivering hits from her album “Chromatica,” including a duet of “Rain on Me” with Ariana Grande.
She will be part of a lineup of veteran VMA performers, including Doja Cat, who will give the inaugural televised performance of her new song “Jealous Type.” Jelly Roll is also scheduled to perform, entering the competition with four category nominations for the first time. Post Malone, who has won six VMAs, will also take the stage.
Additionally, pop artists Conan Gray and Tate McRae will both make their debut performances at the VMAs next month.
