MANILA, Philippines — Television host and actress Kris Aquino celebrated the 31st birthday of her eldest son, Josh Aquino, with family and close friends at their home, according to a social media post she shared on Friday.
Aquino posted photos from the gathering on Instagram, showing family members and members of her glam team in attendance. Her younger son, Bimby Aquino Yap Jr., and her sisters also joined the celebration.
In the caption, Aquino thanked Josh for his support as she continues treatment for autoimmune diseases.
“Happy Birthday Kuya Josh! Had I not been yours and Bimb’s mama, I wouldn’t have the courage and the purpose to continue with my treatments,” Aquino wrote.
She said Josh and Bimby have helped her manage the physical challenges associated with her condition, including symptoms related to rheumatoid arthritis.
Aquino also said Josh encourages her to leave her room and spend time with family by watching television programs together.
“You’re the only one who has the power to get me moving,” she wrote.
She added that she hopes to one day join Josh on his daily walks, which she said range from 7,000 to 10,000 steps.
“My wish is to one day be able to join you for your daily 7000 to 10,000 steps. You are my inspiration. I love you very much,” Aquino said.
In May, Aquino disclosed on social media that she had contracted COVID-19 again and experienced fever and cough shortly after a recent hospitalization. She has previously spoken publicly about undergoing treatment for multiple autoimmune conditions.
