MANILA, Philippines — Television host Kim Atienza completed a mental health training program on April 24, 2026, after attending an eight-hour workshop in Quezon City, according to posts he shared on social media.
Atienza attended a “Mental Health First Aid Workshop” conducted by DMR Psychological Services, where he received a certificate identifying him as a trained mental wellness facilitator.
Photos posted on Instagram showed Atienza holding his certificate. He did not include a caption in the post.
The certificate stated that he completed training designed to equip participants to provide initial support and assist individuals experiencing psychological distress.
The development followed Atienza’s recent public interactions in which he responded to individuals seeking mental health support and offered to cover the cost of a psychiatric consultation for a netizen.
Atienza previously launched an online initiative he called “The Emman Effect,” which he described as acts of kindness toward others.
His involvement in mental health advocacy followed the death of his daughter Emman Atienza in October 2025, which he has publicly linked to his increased focus on supporting mental health awareness.
Atienza has said in earlier statements that he now views engagement with individuals seeking help as a responsibility and an extension of his advocacy for youth mental health.
