John Krasinski has been named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024. The announcement was made during an episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Krasinski is well-known for his role in “The Office” and his work on the “Quiet Place” film franchise and the action series “Jack Ryan.”

Krasinski made a name for himself as the character Jim Halpert in the U.S. version of “The Office.” This role was a significant stepping stone in his career, transitioning from a comedic character to a serious action star in Amazon’s “Jack Ryan.” In “Jack Ryan,” he portrayed a character previously played by actors like Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck.

The recognition from People magazine highlights his diverse career as an actor, writer, and director. Krasinski humorously said in an interview with the magazine that he hopes his wife, Emily Blunt, follows through on a playful promise to use the magazine cover as wallpaper in their home.

Krasinski expressed disbelief upon learning about the honor, describing his initial reaction as “immediate blackout.” He also joked about the possibility of being pranked. Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have often been seen together at various events, including the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s The Albies at the New York Public Library.

Aside from his success in acting, Krasinski co-wrote, directed, and starred in “A Quiet Place,” a film series that has become a three-film franchise. The first installment was released in 2018 and received critical acclaim for its innovative use of sound and suspense. The franchise further cemented Krasinski’s status as a versatile talent in the film industry.

The short-lived but popular pandemic-era web series “Some Good News” was another creative project by Krasinski. The series focused on sharing uplifting stories during challenging times, gaining a substantial following and positive reception.

This year, Krasinski released his sixth directorial film, “IF.” The movie explores the world of imaginary friends and included performances by several talented actors, including Emily Blunt. Krasinski and Blunt, who have been married since 2010, have two daughters together.
