NEW TAIPEI CITY — Actor Jerry Yan visited the grave of his former Meteor Garden co-star Barbie Hsu on Monday at Chin Pao San Cemetery, where Hsu was laid to rest.
Hsu, a prominent Taiwanese actress known for her role in the 2001 drama Meteor Garden, died on February 2, 2025, at age 48 due to complications from influenza while in Japan. Her sister, Dee Hsu, confirmed that the cause of death was pneumonia following a flu infection.
Yan’s visit drew public attention due to the actors’ long-standing on- and off-screen connection. The two starred together in Meteor Garden, a series credited with helping launch the popularity of Taiwanese dramas across Asia in the early 2000s.
Fans of the series responded to Yan’s visit on social media, sharing memories and tributes to the show and its cast.
Yan did not issue a public statement following the visit.
