A 31-year-old man completed a remarkable journey across India, dribbling a soccer ball from Kolkata to New Delhi, covering a distance of 2,000 kilometers.
Nozomu Hagihara, who began his journey two and a half months ago, reached the finish line at the Japanese Embassy in New Delhi on May 15.
Hagihara’s goal was to break the Guinness World Record for the longest distance dribbled with a soccer ball, currently set at 337 kilometers.
He now plans to apply for the record, surpassing the existing distance. Throughout the journey, Hagihara faced challenges, including heatstroke and knee pain, but remained focused on his mission.
Hagihara’s submission for the Guinness World Record is expected to be made in the coming weeks. His journey has inspired others and showcased international camaraderie between Japan and India.
