Jamie Foxx Shares More Details About Mysterious Health Crisis

Phoenix, AZ — Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has revealed additional insights into the health crisis that led to his hospitalization in April 2023, despite still not disclosing the exact cause. Foxx opened up about the ordeal during a recent encounter, captured in a video posted on TikTok this week.

Foxx, who was in Atlanta filming the Netflix movie Back in Action at the time, recounted the harrowing experience to an unidentified group of people. He recalled suffering from a severe headache on April 11, 2023, and asking a friend for an Advil before suddenly losing consciousness.

“I was gone for 20 days,” Foxx stated in the video recorded on June 29 in Phoenix. “I don’t remember anything.”

In the footage, Foxx explained that his sister and daughter rushed him to a doctor, who administered a cortisone shot. Another physician indicated that something serious was occurring, pointing to Foxx’s head, but the actor chose not to elaborate further on camera.

The star, known for his privacy, vanished from the public eye following what his daughter, Corinne Foxx, described on social media as a “medical complication.” In July 2023, Foxx shared that he had deliberately kept details of his health crisis private, explaining that he didn’t want the public to see him in a vulnerable state.

“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show,” Foxx said in an Instagram video at the time. “I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through,” he added, describing the experience as going “to hell and back.”

In August 2023, Foxx posted another health update on his verified social media accounts, expressing gratitude and optimism about his recovery. “You’re looking at a man who is thankful… finally starting to feel like myself,” he wrote. “It’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light.” He also thanked everyone who sent well wishes and prayers during his recovery.

According to IMDb, Back in Action is currently in post-production, marking Foxx’s return to the screen after his health scare.
