MANILA — Actress Jackie Lou Blanco said she felt no bitterness toward the other women in the life of the late actor-director Ricky Davao, as she reflected on their shared history during her eulogy at his wake.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Blanco said she chose to approach the moment with gratitude, acknowledging the roles played by Davao’s former partners, Mayeth Malca and Cheryl Singzon, in his life.

During her eulogy, Blanco referred to Malca and Singzon as “Aida” and “Fe,” drawing from the 1989 romantic comedy Si Aida, Si Lorna, at Si Fe, a film she starred in that became a cultural reference for stories involving one man and three women. Blanco identified herself with “Lorna,” completing the trio.

She explained that using the film’s characters helped contextualize their intertwined lives in a way that was familiar and easily understood by those attending the wake. The movie, adapted from the hit Original Pilipino Music song by Marco Sison, later mirrored aspects of her real-life situation with Davao, Malca, and Singzon.

Blanco said she deliberately chose a tone of acknowledgment, emphasizing that all three women contributed to Davao’s personal journey. She added that she addressed Malca and Singzon directly during her remarks, recognizing their place in Davao’s life story.

The actress said she viewed the women not as rivals but as part of the broader narrative remembered by Davao’s family, friends, and colleagues. She noted that the wake brought together people from different stages of Davao’s career and personal life, and her remarks were meant to connect those chapters.

Blanco’s eulogy formed part of a series of tributes honoring Davao’s work in film and television, as well as his personal relationships, during memorial services for the late actor-director.
