Johnny Knoxville confirmed in an interview published this week that a fifth “Jackass” film is in development, revealing that talks about the project are underway and that the long-running stunt franchise will continue with new material.
Knoxville stated that he and producers have discussed ideas for “Jackass 5,” and he explained that the team plans to build on the format established in previous films and television episodes.
He said the new project will feature elaborate stunts and pranks similar to those that defined earlier “Jackass” releases, which combined physical comedy, dangerous setups, and unscripted reactions from the cast.
Knoxville acknowledged that the production will require careful planning, and he noted that the creative team continues to design sequences that they can film safely while still aiming for high-impact spectacle.
He described how the franchise’s aging core cast members, many of whom sustained injuries over the years, now assess risks more deliberately and coordinate closely with medical and stunt professionals.
Knoxville did not provide casting details, but he said he expects several familiar collaborators to return if schedules and contracts align once production reaches an advanced planning stage.
