SEOUL, South Korea– Large crowds gathered in the capital city for opposing protests concerning the embattled President Yoon Suk Yeol.
Demonstrators took to the streets on Saturday as the legal situation around Yoon escalated, with authorities making repeated attempts to detain him following a controversial martial law decree.
President Yoon’s administration has faced intense scrutiny after what many describe as a failed attempt to assume control through a martial law directive in early December.
The decree, which was short-lived, resulted in considerable political unrest and stirred public dissent across the nation.
Following this, authorities have made several attempts to arrest President Yoon.
Last week, a confrontation unfolded between Yoon’s security team and investigators at a location in Seoul.
