WASHINGTON, D.C. — An Arlington resident, is speaking out after she was charged $88 for four small cups of ice cream from a food truck at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Melissa Hayes, who was visiting the area with her family, expressed shock at the unexpected charge after repeatedly asking the vendor for the price before making the purchase.
According to Hayes, despite requesting the price multiple times, the vendor did not provide any upfront information.
Upon receiving the ice cream, Hayes noticed the substantial charge on her bank statement and was taken aback by the amount.
The incident occurred at the National Mall, a popular tourist destination known for its landmarks, monuments, and food vendors.
Hayes claims her concerns were dismissed, and no explanation or resolution was offered at the time.
