Astronomer’s chief people officer Kristin Cabot resigned on Friday, July 25, after appearing in a viral video recorded during a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The video also featured Andy Byron, the company’s former CEO, who resigned earlier following internal review.
The footage, filmed on July 16, showed Cabot and Byron on the stadium’s kiss cam. Their reaction—avoiding the camera—drew attention both online and within the company.
Byron stepped down on July 19 after being placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. Cabot’s resignation followed amid continued attention surrounding the video and the executives’ conduct.
Astronomer has not released a detailed explanation for either resignation but confirmed that both individuals are no longer part of the leadership team. Their profiles have been removed from the company’s website.
Pete DeJoy, Astronomer’s co-founder and chief product officer, has assumed the role of interim CEO while the board searches for a permanent replacement.
Despite the leadership changes, Astronomer reported that it continues normal operations. The company reaffirmed its commitment to professional conduct and accountability.
