MANILA, Philippines — Actress and fashion personality Heart Evangelista and her mother, Cecilia Ongpauco, survived a robbery attempt at Evangelista’s apartment in Paris, France last month, according to a report aired Monday on a showbiz vlog hosted by Ogie Diaz.
Diaz said an unidentified source told him that a thief entered the apartment while Evangelista and Ongpauco were inside. He said the intruder reached their room and took a bag containing a semi-precious stone and accessories before fleeing. He added that someone inside the apartment activated the alarm, prompting the suspect to leave.
Diaz said Evangelista remained calm during the incident while her mother went into shock. He added that other valuables were not taken because they were inside Ongpauco’s bag, which the intruder did not see.
It was not immediately clear whether Evangelista or her camp reported the incident to French authorities.
Evangelista and Ongpauco were in Paris in January for her participation in Paris Men’s Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026.
During a press conference for “Heart World” season two, Ongpauco said she witnessed her daughter’s work routine in Paris and described her schedule during fashion week. Evangelista also told reporters that she remains committed to her purpose and personal growth.
