MEMPHIS, Tennessee (AP) — Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke was arrested Wednesday, April 1, in Arkansas on multiple charges, including speeding and possession of a controlled substance.
The Cross County Sheriff’s Department reported Clarke was booked for improper passing, possession of a controlled substance, fleeing and exceeding the speed limit, and trafficking a controlled substance. A booking photo was posted on the department’s website.
Clarke, 6-foot-7 and in his seventh NBA season after playing at Gonzaga, has appeared in only two games this season due to injuries. He missed 26 games recovering from right knee surgery and another 46 games with a right calf strain.
The Grizzlies announced on March 24 that Clarke would continue his rehabilitation, but recent tests indicated he was not yet cleared for “high-intensity court work.” The team said he will miss the remainder of the season and is expected to return next season.
“I’m aware of the report, but don’t have any comments,” coach Tuomas Iisalo said before Memphis’ game Wednesday against New York.
