SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A San Antonio woman is calling for an investigation and reforms after her husband, Eric Green, died on April 18 while in custody at Bexar County jail following a reported medical episode and possible withdrawal symptoms.

Priscilla Green, the widow of the deceased, said she believes her husband could have survived if proper medical care had been provided. She is urging jail officials and county authorities to improve medical oversight for incarcerated individuals.

According to initial reports, Eric Green experienced a medical emergency while jailed. Specific details surrounding his condition and the actions taken by medical staff remain unclear.

Priscilla Green is requesting transparency in the investigation and has called for policy changes to address medical care standards inside the jail. She said her concerns are based on what she views as a lack of timely intervention that may have contributed to her husband’s death.

No detailed statement has been released by Bexar County officials regarding the circumstances of Green’s death. The case has drawn renewed attention to medical protocols within the facility.

Eric Green’s death is one of several recent incidents prompting calls for accountability and systemic improvements in jail healthcare across the region.

Advocacy groups and affected families continue to push for enhanced inmate welfare measures and independent oversight of correctional health services.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed whether an internal review or external investigation is underway.
