Gilas Pilipinas women open FIBA 3×3 World Cup with 0-2 record

WARSAW, Poland — The Philippines’ Gilas Pilipinas women’s 3×3 basketball team opened its campaign in the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Women’s World Cup with two losses in Group C matches held Monday.

The Philippines lost to Latvia, 14–11, and Germany, 22–10, in games played in Warsaw, Poland.

Gilas Pilipinas women’s 3×3 player Kacey Dela Rosa scored five points and grabbed three rebounds in the loss to Latvia, while Mikka Cacho added three points and three rebounds. Latvia controlled the game to secure the win.

Dela Rosa and Cacho each scored four points against Germany. Germany’s Ama Degbeon scored 10 points, while Laura Zolper added seven points to lead their team to a 22–10 win.

The Philippines will play China and Italy in its remaining Group C games on Wednesday. The team must finish in the top two of the group to advance to the semifinals. A third-place finish would send the team to the play-in round.
