Singer-actors Gian Magdangal and Lara Maigue announced they will get married in October after four years in a relationship.

Gian shared that her three-week absence made him realize he could not live without her, prompting him to pop the question on her first night back. Lara, caught off guard by the timing, admitted she was surprised, recalling that her nails were unprepared for the occasion.

Initially hoping for a destination wedding, the pair decided to hold their ceremony in the Philippines to ensure Gian’s elderly parents could attend. They describe themselves as a laid-back couple who do not dwell on long engagements or elaborate planning.

The proposal was intimate, taking place after a birthday dinner celebration, with no one else in the restaurant. Lara admitted being so shocked that she couldn’t say yes immediately, but eventually accepted, moved to tears when the moment sank in.

Known for their inseparability, the couple shared that their relationship thrives on togetherness, both onstage and in daily life, despite the occasional disagreement while writing songs. They envision starting a family soon after the wedding, saying they dream of becoming a “trio.”

Both artists continue to pursue their music careers, with their song Liyab now available on Spotify and another original track set for release. They also look forward to performing as special guests at David Benoit’s concert on September 6 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
