Geico, a major insurance provider founded in 1936, is significantly boosting its workforce in North Texas by adding more than 1,000 new jobs. This expansion is part of Geico’s strategic growth plan, highlighting the company’s commitment to leveraging the explosive growth and skilled talent pool in the region.

The new positions will be based at a 165,000-square-foot building in Richardson, just north of Dallas, set to open in fall 2025. This move follows Geico’s previous establishment of commercial insurance operations in Richardson, where it initially set up 500 positions. With the new jobs, Geico’s Richardson operations will expand to a total of 1,500 employees.

Melissa Gallaro, Geico’s Senior Vice President, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “The outstanding talent pool in North Texas has been instrumental in driving Geico’s success, and we are thrilled to expand our presence in Richardson.” She emphasized the region’s skilled workforce as a catalyst for the company’s significant growth and the creation of valuable career opportunities for the local community.

Geico’s decision to further invest in North Texas comes as no surprise, given the area’s burgeoning business environment. Known for its accessibility, high quality of life, and favorable business climate, North Texas has attracted numerous technology companies and small businesses from across the United States.

Although Geico was originally founded in San Antonio, it now has its headquarters in Chevy Chase, Maryland. The company’s expansion in North Texas is a testament to the region’s appeal and its potential to support business growth.

Geico’s Richardson office will complement its existing commercial insurance operations in Katy, Texas, and Fredericksburg, Virginia, reinforcing its presence and capabilities in the commercial insurance sector. This strategic expansion underscores Geico’s confidence in North Texas as a thriving hub for business and employment, poised to support the company’s long-term growth objectives.
