President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Wednesday greeted former First Lady Imelda Marcos on her 96th birthday in Manila, Philippines.

President Marcos Jr. shared a collage on social media, showcasing memories with his mother and highlighting her past role as a representative of Ilocos Norte.

In his post, President Marcos Jr. expressed gratitude, stating, “Your strength, grace, and unwavering love continue to guide and inspire us every day.”

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos also posted a tribute to Imelda Marcos on social media, referring to her as “Mama Meldy” and thanking her for being a second mother.

Araneta-Marcos described Imelda Marcos’ influence, stating, “Your strength and elegance have touched so many lives—especially ours.”

She further expressed appreciation, wishing Imelda Marcos “endless joy and good health.”

This occasion marks Imelda Marcos’ fourth birthday celebration since her return to Malacañang with her son’s presidency.

Imelda Marcos was born on July 2, 1929, and served as the first lady for more than two decades during President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s administration from 1965 until 1986.

After returning from exile in Hawaii, Imelda Marcos rejoined the political scene alongside her children.

She held a position in the House of Representatives, representing Leyte from 1995 to 1998 and later Ilocos Norte from 2010 to 2019.
