With the July 4th holiday approaching, Austin officials are emphasizing fireworks safety and urging residents to leave displays to professionals.

The Austin Fire Department has ramped up public awareness efforts, warning that improper use of fireworks can lead to fires, injuries, and property damage. Fire departments citywide are encouraging residents to attend public fireworks shows conducted by licensed professionals rather than setting off fireworks at home.

Authorities remind the public to follow all local regulations regarding fireworks use and to prioritize safety throughout the holiday weekend. Emergency services are on heightened alert, as fireworks-related injuries typically spike during this period.

Residents are encouraged to celebrate responsibly and ensure a safe Independence Day for all.
