The Philippine Consulate General in Houston served as the venue for the first-ever Entrepreneurs’ Bootcamp organized by the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce – Texas (PACCTX) on Aug. 9.
Held at the Consulate’s premises, the event gathered Filipino and other small business owners from across Texas for a day of learning, networking, and empowerment.
The seminar featured practical workshops on key aspects of business operations and management, offering valuable insights and resources to help participants start, grow, or strengthen their businesses. A highlight of the event was a panel discussion featuring Filipino entrepreneurs from diverse industries, who shared their experiences, strategies, and lessons learned in navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship.
In his opening remarks, Consul General Gunther Sales welcomed participants to the Consulate and emphasized the crucial role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in economic development. He lauded PACCTX for its efforts to support Filipino and Filipino American entrepreneurs and underscored the Consulate General’s ongoing commitment to promoting business initiatives that strengthen ties between the Philippines and Texas.
Council Member Crystal Sarmiento of the City of Manvel also delivered an inspirational message, encouraging entrepreneurs to build strong networks and relationships as a foundation for business success. She praised the Filipino community’s spirit of unity and mutual support as a valuable asset for those pursuing entrepreneurial ventures.
The success of the event at the Philippine Consulate General marks the beginning of a biannual bootcamp series led by PACCTX, aimed at equipping small business owners in Texas with the tools and connections they need to thrive.
