Timor-Leste hosts Filipinas in ASEAN title defense opener

The Philippine women’s national football team will commence its campaign to retain the title in the ASEAN Women’s Championship on Thursday against Timor-Leste.

The match will take place at Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho, Vietnam. Head coach Mark Torcaso has expressed the team’s determination to secure three points in the match scheduled for 7:30 p.m. local time (8:30 p.m. Philippine time).

The Philippine Football Federation announced the squad for the tournament, featuring a mix of seasoned players and new talents.

The competition, also known as the MSIG Serenity Cup due to sponsorship reasons, is organized as part of regional women’s football events.

The tournament sees participation from various Southeast Asian nations. The Philippines aims to replicate its previous success, having won their first championship title last year.
