FC Dallas winger Don Deedson Louicius has been selected to represent Haiti national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking Haiti’s first appearance in the tournament since 1974.
Deedson’s inclusion also makes franchise history for FC Dallas, which now has active players represented in consecutive FIFA World Cups following Jesús Ferreira suiting up for the United States men’s national soccer team in 2022.
The Haitian winger is one of three MLS-based players named to Haiti’s World Cup squad. Meanwhile, FC Dallas teammate Petar Musa remains in contention for a spot with Croatia national football team, while Swedish defender Herman Johansson was named a reserve player for Sweden national football team ahead of its pre-tournament friendlies in Europe.
Toyota Stadium, home of FC Dallas, will serve as Sweden’s official base camp training site during the tournament.
Haiti was drawn into Group C and opens World Cup play against Scotland national football team on June 13 in Boston. The Grenadiers will then face Brazil national football team on June 19 in Philadelphia before wrapping up group-stage action against Morocco national football team in Atlanta.
Before the tournament begins, Haiti is scheduled to play warm-up matches against New Zealand national football team and Peru national football team.
Deedson has earned 30 senior caps and scored 10 goals for Haiti since making his international debut in 2021 against Belize national football team during Concacaf World Cup qualifying. He delivered one of the nation’s biggest recent moments when he scored the game-winning goal against Nicaragua national football team in November 2025 to clinch Haiti’s World Cup berth.
Since joining FC Dallas in the summer of 2025, Deedson has appeared in nine matches and scored his first MLS goal against St. Louis CITY SC on April 11.
Before arriving in North Texas, Deedson starred for Danish club Odense Boldklub, tallying 15 goals and 10 assists while helping the team secure promotion to the Danish Superliga in 2025. He previously began his professional career with Hobro IK.
A product of Kalonji Soccer Academy, Deedson helped lead the academy to the 2019 U.S. Youth Soccer U-18 National Championship.
Meanwhile, AT&T Stadium — temporarily renamed Dallas Stadium during the tournament under FIFA sponsorship rules — will host nine World Cup matches, the most of any venue, including a semifinal on July 14.
