SEOUL — EXO members Baekhyun, Chen and Xiumin filed a lawsuit Monday seeking to suspend their exclusive contracts with their agency INB100, according to legal sources.
A Seoul district court held a hearing on the case Monday.
The three members, who form EXO’s first subunit CBX, announced in April that they planned to terminate their contracts with INB100. They cited unpaid settlements and other issues and sent the agency a formal notice in March.
Baekhyun founded INB100 in 2023, while Chen and Xiumin joined the agency in January 2024. The agency later became part of One Hundred Label, which Cha Gawon heads.
South Korean prosecutors recently indicted Cha over allegations involving 30 billion won ($22.3 million) in fraud. Her first trial hearing is scheduled for October.
The legal dispute has also affected EXO’s group activities.
EXO released its eighth full-length album, “Reverxe,” in January, marking the group’s first full album in about 2 1/2 years. Baekhyun, Chen and Xiumin did not participate in the album amid the ongoing dispute involving INB100 and SM Entertainment.
The latest lawsuit adds another legal proceeding to the dispute between the three members and their agency.
