Eumir Marcial eyes SEA Games gold after dominating KO victory

BANGKOK, Thailand — Filipino boxer Eumir Marcial advanced to the men’s 80-kilogram boxing final of the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games on Wednesday, December [date not specified], after he knocked out Vietnamese opponent Manh Cuing Nguyen with a right hook at the Chulalongkorn Sports Center in Bangkok, Thailand, to secure a shot at the gold medal.

Marcial, a two-time Olympian representing the Philippines, delivered the decisive punch during their semifinal bout and forced the referee to stop the contest as Nguyen went down.

Event officials recorded the victory as a knockout win for Marcial, which ensured his qualification for the championship match in the 80kg division.
