MANILA, Philippines — The impeachment court is set to rule Wednesday on the House prosecution panel’s request to subpoena the bank and tax records of Vice President Sara Duterte, presiding officer Francis “Chiz” Escudero said Tuesday.

On the sixth day of Duterte’s impeachment trial, both the prosecution and defense will present oral arguments on the request before the senator-judges deliberate.

Escudero said the court would decide on the matter after hearing both sides.

Senator-judge Alan Peter Cayetano raised concerns about the volume of written submissions, noting that the prosecution and defense had filed a combined 65 pages of arguments.

Following the oral arguments, the senator-judges will convene in caucus to discuss and vote on the request.

Under the court’s rules, each side will be allotted 15 minutes to present its oral arguments, followed by 10 minutes each for rebuttal.
