MANILA, Philippines — Actor Epy Quizon publicly thanked a Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) driver who returned the mobile phone he accidentally left behind after a ride, calling the experience a reminder that “good people are still everywhere.”
In an Instagram post on July 10, Quizon identified the driver as Jhun Diaz and said he unknowingly left his phone inside the vehicle after getting off.
According to Quizon, the driver stayed near the drop-off location because they had no way to contact each other and hoped the actor would realize the phone was missing.
Nearly three hours later, Quizon noticed the phone was gone. After his daughter Misha and his partner Mapet called the device, Diaz answered and returned the phone within minutes.
Quizon said what impressed him most was the driver’s positive attitude despite the inconvenience.
“What I’ll remember most wasn’t just that he gave my phone back—it was the smile on his face,” Quizon wrote, adding that the driver showed kindness without annoyance.
He thanked Diaz for his honesty, integrity and compassion, saying such acts deserve recognition.
The post drew praise from social media users, many of whom commended the driver for returning the lost phone.
The incident coincided with the 14th death anniversary of Quizon’s father, Dolphy. In a separate Instagram post, Quizon honored the late comedy icon, saying his greatest achievement was the enduring love and admiration he continues to receive from generations of Filipinos.
