MANILA, Philippines — Actor Enrique Gil said he and former partner Liza Soberano are no longer in frequent contact but remain in communication on occasion, in an interview aired April 27, 2026.
Gil made the remarks during an interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila, where he discussed his past relationship with Soberano and their current connection. He said they still reach out to each other during significant events but do not communicate as often as before.
He said their separate careers have contributed to the reduced contact, noting that Soberano is pursuing work abroad. Gil added that they continue to maintain mutual respect and said they share a personal history after growing up together.
Gil described Soberano as a childhood friend and former partner and said he values their shared experiences. He said he remains grateful for their time together.
During the interview, Gil also said he is open to entering a new relationship and has been meeting other people following their breakup. The split between Gil and Soberano was confirmed in 2025 after months of speculation.
