A hit-and-run incident in North Texas has led to a search for a driver who struck and killed a 12-year-old boy. The tragic incident occurred near the 3700 block of Stalcup Road, a location that quickly became the scene of an intense police investigation. Officers were dispatched to the area at around 8 p.m. following reports of an auto-pedestrian collision.

The Fort Worth Police Department is leading the investigation. The young victim was identified as Apollo Rogers. He was reportedly walking near the road when he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene. The authorities have been urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward, emphasizing the urgency of the situation and the impact on the community.

Community members in the area have been visibly shaken by the event. Many residents expressed their shock and sadness at the loss of such a young life. Conversations have emerged around road safety, especially for young pedestrians in the area. Some residents have called for increased measures to ensure that such tragedies do not occur again.

Witnesses at the scene provided some initial accounts that have been pivotal for the police department. Many described seeing a vehicle speeding away after the incident. Details about the make and model of the vehicle remain sparse, leading to a broader appeal for potential eyewitnesses to assist the investigation.

Crime scene investigators have been meticulously gathering evidence from the site. The area was temporarily cordoned off to allow for a detailed examination. This examination includes looking for any car parts or related debris that might have been left behind by the fleeing vehicle. Forensic analysts continue to examine this evidence in hopes of identifying the driver responsible.

The Fort Worth Police Department has reiterated their commitment to solving this case. They have assured the public that all resources are being allocated to bring the perpetrator to justice. The case has drawn significant attention, with local news outlets providing ongoing coverage and updates.

In response to the incident, local community groups have organized vigils to honor the memory of Apollo Rogers. These gatherings have served as a platform for collective mourning and solidarity. Many attendees have shared memories of the young boy, highlighting his vibrant personality and the void left by his untimely passing.

City officials have also weighed in, acknowledging the profound sadness enveloping the community. They have pledged to work alongside law enforcement to ensure all necessary steps are taken. Conversations have been initiated about potential infrastructure improvements that might enhance pedestrian safety in the area.
