MANILA, Philippines –The Department of Justice (DOJ) is currently investigating the possibility that former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque exited the country using a private plane.
This development follows concerns raised by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) regarding Roque’s departure.
The BI reported that there is no official record of his departure, raising suspicions about the legality of his exit.
Justice Undersecretary Raul Vasquez confirmed that authorities are looking into the matter and are trying to determine how Roque might have left the country.
Reports suggest Roque managed to leave the Philippines without proper documentation, which has led officials to explore various scenarios, including the use of a private aircraft.
Initial findings indicate that Roque may have traveled to Abu Dhabi.
This conclusion is drawn from a counter-affidavit that Roque submitted, which was notarized in Abu Dhabi.
Authorities are working to piece together Roque’s travel route and verify whether there were any lapses at immigration checkpoints.
The BI is in discussions with the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi to gather more information. Additionally, there is an ongoing assessment to determine if any immigration personnel were involved in aiding Roque’s departure.
As the investigation unfolds, the DOJ has emphasized that it will not speculate on the outcome. It aims to conduct a thorough and impartial inquiry.
