Ukrainian negotiators traveled to Florida on Friday to begin peace discussions with officials from the Trump administration as Russian airstrikes intensified across multiple regions in Ukraine and caused civilian casualties.

Ukrainian authorities reported that recent Russian attacks killed residents and damaged buildings in several cities. Emergency responders worked to rescue trapped individuals, provide medical aid, and assess structural damage. Hospitals in affected areas received an influx of injured civilians, while aid organizations mobilized to deliver supplies and temporary shelter.

Footage from local officials showed widespread destruction, including collapsed structures and debris-filled streets. Residents sought safety in designated shelters as warnings of additional strikes continued.

Ukrainian leaders renewed calls for international assistance and said the latest wave of attacks underscored the urgency of securing a diplomatic resolution. The delegation’s visit to the United States forms part of broader efforts to pursue negotiations that could reduce hostilities.

Officials said the Florida meetings will focus on ceasefire conditions, humanitarian support, and potential steps toward long-term stability.

Ukrainian representatives expressed hope that dialogue with U.S. officials will result in agreements that protect civilians and reduce ongoing displacement.

The Russian government stated that its operations targeted locations it claimed posed security threats. Ukrainian authorities disputed those claims and said the strikes hit civilian areas.
