MCALLEN, Texas — Federal authorities seized more than 2,000 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in a cabbage shipment in the Rio Grande Valley during a joint investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration said.
The DEA’s Houston Division said its McAllen office made the seizure as part of a Homeland Security Task Force investigation.
Homeland Security Investigations, the FBI, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol and the Texas Department of Public Safety also participated in the investigation, according to the DEA.
The agency did not immediately release details about where authorities intercepted the shipment, its intended destination or whether investigators made any arrests.
The DEA did not provide further information about the seizure.
