Philippines — Actress Carla Abellana announced her engagement on Monday, December 1, three months after confirming her relationship with a new partner.
Abellana shared a photo on her Instagram account showing her left hand wearing a circular-shaped diamond engagement ring while her partner held her hand. She captioned the post with a Bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future,” along with white heart emojis.
The actress did not reveal her fiancé’s identity in the post. Fans and fellow celebrities, including Rita Daniela, Rabiya Mateo, Max Collins, Chynna Ortaleza, Andrea Torres, Jessy Mendiola, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Coney Reyes, congratulated the couple.
Abellana had disclosed in August that she was in a relationship with a non-showbiz partner. Engagement rumors surfaced shortly afterward.
The actress previously married actor Tom Rodriguez in October 2021. The couple separated months later, and Rodriguez, a U.S. citizen, filed for divorce in March 2022. The divorce was finalized three months later and recognized by a Philippine court in June 2024.
