MANILA, Philippines– Filipino boxer Carl Jammes Martin will make his U.S. debut on May 31 in an eight-round, non-title junior featherweight bout against Mexican fighter Francisco Javier Pedroza Portillo at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Martin and Portillo successfully completed the official weigh-in on Friday, confirming both fighters met the required weight limit for their division.

The weigh-in marked a crucial step ahead of the highly anticipated event, which takes place on May 31 in the United States, or June 1 in Manila time.

Martin enters the ring as an unbeaten prospect in the junior featherweight division. Known for his speed and power, he looks to make a strong impression in his first fight on American soil. Portillo poses a formidable challenge as Martin tests his skills against international competition.

The fight is part of a stacked boxing card featuring several notable matchups. Former world champion Caleb Plant will headline the event with a bout against Jose Armando Resendiz. Another featured fight includes Jermall Charlo facing Thomas LaManna.

The Michelob Ultra Arena will host the evening’s series of bouts, drawing attention from boxing fans around the world. The card includes a mix of seasoned professionals and rising stars, underscoring the global appeal of the sport.
