MANILA, Philippines — P-pop girl group BINI flew to Japan on Wednesday, Aug. 12, to perform at Summer Sonic 2026 in Osaka and Tokyo this week.

BINI, composed of Aiah, Mikha, Sheena, Maloi, Stacey, Jhoanna, Colet and Gwen, shared photos of its airport departure on social media.

The group will perform on the Mountain Stage at Summer Sonic’s Osaka leg on Friday, Aug. 14, before performing on the same stage in Tokyo on Sunday, Aug. 16.

BINI will share the festival lineup with fellow Filipino acts SB19 and singer-songwriter Ena Mori. SB19 will perform at the Massive Stage in Osaka on Aug. 14 and the Pacific Stage in Tokyo on Aug. 15.

Summer Sonic 2026 marks the festival’s 25th anniversary. The Japanese music festival launched in 2000 as an event held simultaneously in Tokyo and Osaka.

Organizers expanded this year’s festival to three days, from Aug. 14 to 16, and expect about 330,000 attendees across the two cities.

The lineup also includes The Strokes, L’Arc-en-Ciel, Ado, Jamiroquai, Jennie, David Byrne, FKA twigs, Alex Warren, Steve Lacy, Suede, Keshi, LE SSERAFIM, Pentatonix and BABYMETAL.

BINI’s Summer Sonic appearance comes months after the group became the first Filipino act to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.

The Philippine Senate and House of Representatives later adopted resolutions recognizing the group’s Coachella milestone.

BINI released its six-track EP “Signals” on the day of its Coachella debut. The EP also serves as the title of the group’s ongoing world tour, which includes stops in the United States, Canada, Europe, Singapore and Taiwan.

The group also released “A Parallel World,” its song for DreamWorks’ upcoming animated film “Forgotten Island,” on July 23.
