San Antonio, Texas — Fiesta San Antonio officially began Wednesday with Fiesta Fiesta at Travis Park, where residents gathered for live music, food vendors, a small parade, and community booths marking the start of the city’s annual festival.

Organizers held the kickoff event in downtown San Antonio, where attendees watched performances, traded Fiesta medals, and visited vendors as confetti, bubbles, and cumbia music filled the park.

Fiesta Fiesta included a parade through Travis Park and booths operated by local organizations supporting nonprofit fundraising efforts tied to Fiesta events.

Attendees wore decorated hats and festival attire as they moved through the park and participated in activities, including games and food lines.

Roy Thompson, who has attended Fiesta since childhood, wore a decorated hat he made with his sister. He said he continues to add to and repair it each year.

Attendees Elizabeth Ruiz and Jo Cox said Fiesta provides a break from daily stress and brings the community together.

Fiesta San Antonio includes a series of events across the city that support local nonprofits through fundraising and public participation.
