MANILA, Philippines — Actress Bela Padilla disclosed that producers nearly replaced her in the upcoming film 100 Awit Para Kay Stella, the sequel to the 2017 movie 100 Tula Para Kay Stella.

Padilla made the revelation during a media conference for the film, which she attended alongside co-stars JC Santos and Kyle Echarri. “They almost replaced me. It was supposed to be a different star,” she said, referring to an earlier stage of production.

According to Padilla, she had flown to London and temporarily left the Philippines when she learned that another actress was being considered to star opposite Santos. She did not name the potential replacement.

The production team has not issued a statement on the casting matter. Co-stars Santos and Echarri also did not comment during the press event.

The sequel continues the story from the original film, which featured Padilla and Santos in lead roles. Fans of the first installment have expressed heightened interest following Padilla’s remarks.

Details about the storyline, final casting, and release date for 100 Awit Para Kay Stella remain undisclosed. The film’s production continues amid growing anticipation from audiences.

Further announcements from the production team are expected in the coming weeks.
