BCSO hunts suspect in $30,000 online investment scam targeting elderly man

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect accused of defrauding an elderly man of $30,000 through an online investment scheme.

Investigators said the suspect convinced the victim to invest and then collected the money in person at the victim’s home after arriving in a gray vehicle.

BCSO is treating the case as financial abuse of an elderly individual. Detectives asked the public to report information that could help identify or locate the suspect. Tips can be submitted to the agency at 210-335-5786.

The investigation remains active. Authorities have not released further details. The sheriff’s office reminded residents to take precautions when engaging in online financial transactions and to report suspected fraud.
