AUSTIN, Texas — Although Austin is not among the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the city will take part in the lead-up to the global tournament by welcoming the official World Cup trophy tour this spring.
The tournament, scheduled to begin in June, will be staged across North America, with matches hosted in selected cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The trophy is set to stop in Austin on April 28 and 29 at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center, the home of MLS NEXT Pro team Austin FC II. The traveling exhibit gives fans an opportunity to view one of soccer’s most recognized symbols ahead of the competition.
Austin is one of four Texas locations included in the tour. The scheduled stops are Dallas on April 25–26 at the Cotton Bowl, Austin on April 28–29, San Antonio on April 30 at The Rock at La Cantera, and Houston on May 2–3 at Helix Park.
Organizers said attendees can reserve up to four free tickets for the event. Activities are expected to include interactive displays, promotional giveaways and a beverage sampling area.
The tour is part of broader promotional efforts designed to build excitement ahead of the World Cup, which is anticipated to draw global attention when it kicks off next summer.
