AUSTIN, Texas— A 38-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday in Austin following a three-month investigation into cocaine distribution, with authorities seizing several kilograms of the drug and cash from his residence.
The arrest was made by the Austin Police Department’s narcotics unit after surveillance operations.
The suspect, Albert Garcia, was believed to be a key figure in a local drug distribution network. Undercover officers, in collaboration with federal agencies, gathered evidence that led to his arrest.
In addition to the cocaine, authorities found cash at Garcia’s home, believed to be proceeds from drug sales. He faces multiple charges related to drug trafficking and possession with intent to distribute.
The Austin Police Department confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with the possibility of additional arrests. Authorities emphasized their efforts to reduce drug-related crimes in the city.
Garcia is in custody and awaiting arraignment.
